Tomato Seeds - Sungold F1
Tomato 'F1 Sungold' is our highly recommended variety. It has the most sweet & delicious small orangey/yellow fruit that are suitable to eat raw or cooked. It looks delightful on a plate especially when mixed with other fresh red tomatoes and is easy to grow.

Tomato 'F1 Sungold' produce a heavy crop that will continue to fruit over a long period if the fruit is regularly harvested. (Pick tomatoes as soon as ready as they have a tendency to split, and as with all tomatoes water regularly to help prevent splitting which occurs with irregular watering.)

It is a cordon type so it has one central stem that will just keep growing upwards and will require pinching out at the top when it reaches the required height. The small side shoots that develop in the crux of the stem and side branches, need pinching out too before they grow too big, so all the energy will go into fruiting.

Approx 10 seeds per pack.

Seed Information
Qty:
Approx 10 seeds per pack.
Site:
Sunny, fertile but sheltered spot or in greenhouse/polytunnel
Sow:
February to April under cover
How:
Sow seeds thinly in seed trays of seed & potting compost or 2-3 seeds in small pots and cover lightly with a little compost. Firm compost gently and water carefully. Keep in heated greenhouse / propagator at about 15-20°C. Transplant into larger individual pots when 10cm tall. 'Harden off' plants for 3-4 days before finally planting them outside from May to June, at a spacing of 45cm between plants. It is best to plant deeply to a depth of 0.5cm below the seed leaves – this helps to give a nice sturdy plant. This variety can also be grown in a greenhouse in a large pot/greenhouse soil or grow bags.
Care:
Keep protected if frost is forecast with a fleece or a cloche. They require daily watering and feeding with a high potassium, tomato fertiliser once a week when the fruit has begun to set. The 'F1 Sungold' is a cordon plant that will require staking and support as it produces a heavy crop of tomatoes. Side shoots will require 'pinching out'.
Harvest: July to October
