Tomato Seeds - Red Zebra F1
Tomato 'Red Zebra' F1 produces a striking and unusual reddish tomato with yellow stripes. It has the best flavour of all striped tomatoes with an unusual fruitiness.

The fruits are medium sized and can sometimes be irregular in shape & size, but 'Red Zebra' does produce a prolific crop. It is good for salads & sandwiches and it keeps well.

It is best grown in a greenhouse / polytunnel production, but can be sown outside in warmer climates. The south may be able to grow outside, but the north probably won't, but gardeners do like to experiment.

It is a cordon variety so will require staking/support and pinching out.

Approx 10 seeds per pack.

Seed Information
Qty:
Approx 10 seeds per pack.
Site:
Greenhouse/Polytunnel either in large containers/grow bags.
Sow:
Sow February to April.
How:
Sow seeds thinly in seed trays of seed & potting compost or 2-3 seeds in small pots and cover lightly with a little compost. Firm compost gently and water carefully. Keep in heated greenhouse/propagator at about 15-20C. Transplant into larger individual pots when 10cm tall. In May/June transplant into final position in greenhouse/polytunnel either in ground soil/large containers or grow-bags. It is best to plant deeply to a depth of 0.5cm below the seed leaves this helps to give a nice sturdy plant. Space up to 45cm between between each plant grow bags usually have positions marked for 3 plants to a bag.
Care:
Keep protected if frost is forecast with a fleece or a cloche. They require daily watering and feeding with a high potassium, tomato fertiliser once a week when the fruit has begun to set. It will require staking and support as it produces a heavy crop of tomatoes. Side shoots will require 'pinching out'.
Harvest: June to October.
