Tomato Seeds - Koralik (Organic) |
|
Tomato Koralik is a bush (determinate) type that produces lots of sweet tasty red cherry tomatoes. It shows good resistence to blight as it fruits very early (62 days to maturity) and so misses the height of the blight season.
It is quite bushy so it may need a little pinching out & staking during the season just to keep it putting it’s energy into fruiting. The tomatoes on each truss ripen at the same time.
Tomato Koralik is a Russian heirloom variety that does well in cooler climates and is great for hanging baskets / containers on a patio.
Approx 10 seeds per pack.

How:
|
Sow seeds thinly in seed trays of seed & potting compost or 2-3 seeds in small pots and cover lightly with a little compost. Firm compost gently and water carefully. Keep in heated greenhouse / propagator at about 15-20°C. Transplant into larger individual pots when 10cm tall. 'Harden off' plants for 3-4 days before finally planting them outside from May to June. It is best to plant deeply to a depth of 0.5cm below the seed leaves - this helps to give a nice sturdy plant. Space 60-90cm between each plant.

Care:
|
Keep protected if frost is forecast with a fleece or a cloche. They require daily watering and feeding with a high potassium, tomato fertiliser once a week when the fruit has begun to set. ‘Koralik’ is a bush tomato that may require a little staking and support as it produces a heavy crop. As a bush variety it will not require 'pinching out'.
