Lettuce 'Lobjoits Green' Seeds |
|
Lettuce 'Lobjoits Green' produces an upright lettuce with crisp self-folding dark green leaves. They are lovely and crunchy in a salad or the folded leaves are useful holders for starters/canapés.
Lettuce 'Lobjoits Green' is slow to bolt and can be sown indoors from march to april & outdoors from april to july. It takes about 70 days to mature and is excellent to sow every 2-3 weeks throughout the season.
It was first introduced in the 1950's and is still considered by many to be the best cos variety available.

Prefers well drained, moist, rich soil. But grows and looks well in containers.

indoors: March to April.
Outdoors: April to July.

How:
|
Sow thinly 1cm deep in rows 25cm apart in a prepared seedbed and lightly cover with fine soil. Seedlings appear in 7-14 days. Thin to about 15cm apart when large enough. Water in carefully. For a continuous crop sow every 2-3 weeks.

Care:
|
In spring/summer keep soil moist especially during dry weather, weed free and protect early sowings with a cloche. Best to water in the morning as watering in the evening will increase the risk of disease.
