Chinese Cabbage 'Wong Bok' Seeds |
|
Chinese Cabbage 'Wong Bok' is a versatile vegetable as it adds crunch to salads especially coleslaw, flavour to sir fries and is a useful steamed veg. It has a milder, sweeter flavour then the more usual cabbage.
Chinese Cabbage 'Wong Bok' has barrel shaped heads with pale green crinkled leaves with a white mid-rib and each head weighs approx. 2kg. It keeps well at 1°C for 2-3 weeks after harvesting.
|
Chinese cabbage is part of the brassica family but is easier to grow than most and matures quickly - ready to harvest in 8-10 weeks. It won't perform well on poor soil so ensure plenty of organic matter is incorporated well before sowing seed and like most brassicas it likes a nice firm soil. It is shallow rooting so will need watering little & often which helps prevent bolting.
Approx 100 seeds per pack.
