Brussels Sprout 'F1 Wellington' produces a heavy crop of tasty dark green buttons. It is winter hardy and the stalk stands up well to the weight & weather.
It is ready to harvest at a time when there is little else in the garden and as a late variety crops for a long period - from December to March. Sprouts are a must for Xmas dinner and this variety will reliably crop for that special day (but remember sprouts are not just for xmas!!!!)
Sprouts can be harvested as & when needed a little at a time or if the top 'leafy head' is cut off in October in one go, the sprouts will be all ready to mature at once usually at Xmas. A catch crop can be sown under the sprouts such as quick growing salad leaves or swiss chard.
Try the delicious Brussels Sprout soup recipe (Delia Smith) it sounds very strange but actually tastes delicious and I've tried on friends who are not keen on Brussels but love the warm, creamy, nutty taste of this soup. Great way to use up a sprout glut.
Approx 50 seeds per pack.
