|
Aubergine 'Baby Belle F1' is a very productive compact variety that forms a number of small jet-black ‘jewel-like’ aubergines with the taste, texture & appearance of the larger varieties.
Aubergine 'Baby Belle F1' is a quick maturing, spine free variety that should be grown under glass as it needs warmth to crop well. A fortnightly feed with a tomato fertiliser will help boost ripening & cropping.
It only reaches 30cm tall so is perfect for growing in containers and it looks good too with lovely purple flowers & then beautiful shiny fruit. It will need a bit of staking to help support the heavy aubergines.

How:
|
Sow indoors in heated propagator, keep at 20°C. Should germinate in 10-20 days and then reduce night-time temp to 15°C. Pot on when large enough. Final pot size should be 20cm. It is best to keep undercover as it requires consistent high temperatures to fruit well. It may do well in a very sheltered sunny spot but do not plant out until risk of frost has passed.
